The Word of God is Life
We are living amid times of struggles and changes. The pandemic has not only come and stripped people of their livelihood but has caused family members to pass away. People are living without hope and in isolation due to fear. Life as we knew it has changed, but we must not focus on the world’s forecast but rather, God’s plans for our lives an this plan is in the word of God.
John 1:4-5, “The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out.”
When you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel, and all seems lost, where do you drive out the energy to continue to live each day? What is your source of life? The scriptures tell us that God’s Word is the source of life. But how often do we spend time meditating in God’s Word? The problem is that we do not spend time learning God’s Word. Instead, we rely on third-party revelations and sermons to know God’s Word. It is great to listen to preachers, but God desires to have a relationship with us. He desires the one on one connection.
Have A Relationship With God
Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and eat with him, and he with me.”
In Revelation 3:20, we see how it states that Jesus will knock on our door, and if those who adhere and respond to his voice, he will eat with them and vice versa. God is a spiritual being of reciprocity. He desires to have a relationship with us that goes two ways. When we are responsive to him, then He is responsive to us. But how can we cultivate a relationship with God without prayer and without reading His Word? It starts there. The word of God is powerful. Tapping into His love is what will get you through the bad days. His love will heal all the open soul wounds. He will give you peace and dissipate all the negative thoughts you wrestle with daily.
Speak The Word
Often we forget who we are—we are daughters to the King of kings. We are the heirs of the kingdom of heaven, and thus we have authority granted by our heavenly Father. You and I are loved and not hated. We are adopted and not abandoned. We are light! And the circumstances that we face cast a shadow over our light, and as a result, we forget who we are. And we forget who we belong to in the process.
John 1:14, “The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father’s only Son.”
Jesus Christ is the Word of God made flesh. Therefore, we must not lean into the world but lean into what God says about us. The scriptures tell us that God’s plans for our lives will surpass all our expectations (1 Corinthians 2:9). It also says that God’s plans for our lives are prosperous and consist of hope (Jeremiah 29:11). As you learn scriptures adopt the habit of declaring it upon your life and your family. It is written in the Bible that the Word of God is alive and active and sharper than a double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Therefore, make it part of your speech and your prayers.
Now is the time to turn to God and seek His guidance. Right now is the moment to cling to God and build an altar for Him at the center of our home. It’s time to start living by the word of God. Do you want to be healed? Is there a desire to bask in the peace that never subsides? Do you desire redemption for your life? Then the time is now to welcome Jesus into your life and your thoughts, and surrender to Him. Pursue His Word without ceasing because it is in pursuit of His Word that you’ll encounter His love, peace, healing, and hope (Psalms 1: 2-3).
